Is Play Action useless in this game?

I just beat a guy 14-0 using michigan state (vs miami) and scored off a 47 yard play action to a wideout. I hit the same play one other time to set up my second TD.

I use it when i get bump and run coverage one on one on the outside or if my opponent is leaving the middle of the field open to hit tight end on post routes. As others have previously said, you have to set them up by running the ball or drawing their attention away from where you want the ball to go.

ARE YOU KIDDING? PA is a HUGE part of my offense. Of course it works.

People need to realize that running four verts, or HB screen, or HB counter every play won't yield you big yards every time. This game is supposed to emulate real life. You don't see teams running hurry up four verts passing to the crossing TE all the way down the field, and what do you know? It doesn't work in the game. GOOD.

I always set up with the run though. I'm a run first offense. I don't like to pass unless I absolutely have to, but when I'm in the red zone, I break out the PA. I don't know, maybe I'm just getting unlucky. I'll try it again later today and report results back to OS.

Same. The first year or two of that feature it worked great. The last two years "set-up" plays have been disasters for me.

Are you playing 12 or 13?

12 it's beyond worthless. In 13 it can be quite effective if the defense calls a blitz though it's either a sack or big gain..

I always hot route an extra blocker in. Wether it be a tight end or running back.
