TarHeel that's an amazing idea. I really like it. It would take getting used to, but once a person masters the basic stick hits the more precise ones that incorporate the trigger buttons would soon follow suit. This concept would work great in open space. Imagine using this on punt return and kick return coverage. The most boring part of the game would actually be made more interesting.

Sounds like an interesting Idea. Running and momentum and such should be addressed too, same with blocking.

The only thing I worry about with this control scheme though is the complexity of the controls, and the execution of it in the trenches, and tackles that need to be made that aren't in open space.

I assume if you're engaged in a block, you could go left or right on the sticks to reach an arm out and if the HB is close enough, he'd grab the jersey and either slowing him down or causing him to lose balance and potentially fall.

Would work well in Madden anyways. Don't know why he C+P here too.
