what is a realistic number of pass attempts and rush attempts average?

I usually average about 22-26 pass attempts and about 12-15 rushing attempts per game . Is this about the average for a college football game? I know some teams run more but just wondering how close this is. I have looked at several real NCAA games stats but can't tell what the normal average is....

That's really low compared to real life. Depending on play style could be 60 something to 80 something if you are uptempto team.

I think 8-10 min quarters are what you need to get a realistic number of total plays for both teams combined. 120-140 on avg. I use 9min in CPU-CPU games and do well using 10 on coach mode or HUM-CPU games cos the user will usually use more clock than the CPU.

This can be true, but be careful. You have to realize that real CFB teams rush WAY more than a lot of users ever do. In the last 3 years, NO team has ever averaged less than 22 rush attempts/game, with most averaging ~40.

If you are using hurry up (which btw you can make go a lot faster than even Oregon runs in real life) combined with low rushing totals means that you may want to consider having quarters on the 7-8 minute range instead of 8-10. If you dont do this, you could end up with crazy offensive totals.

Overall, dont adjust your play style, just adjust the quarters to 120-160 plays a game (both teams) like it seems you were doing anyways

I know at OSU the coaches' goal is to run 100 offensive plays in a game. I don't know if we've actually done it before, but we typically end up in the 75-85 range. And I know we've broken 90 on more than a few occasions.

Of course, this is with a hurry-up, no huddle offense. I would think 55-60 offensive plays is a good, solid number for a "normal-tempo" offense.

Ok so i went up to 9 min quarters which seemed almost a bit too long.

I played my Tulsa dynasty, 2nd season, against U of Houston .

I lost 20-14 but my stats look like this

QB : 15/31, 200 yards, 2 td, 3 ints
HB : 25 rushes, 125 yards


....my completion pctg sucked but that sounds like a reasonable number of attempts
