Not really that much of a difference IMHO, looking forward to seeing what the PS4 and Xbox 720 have to offer.

Thoughts?

Seems like 6 years should deliver a much bigger difference than that.

Re: NCAA Football 08 vs. NCAA Football 14 Graphics

Not to start a Madden vs NCAA argument, but I've always preferred Madden's player Models and graphics over NCAA.
-Madden '12 player models, uniforms and stadiums looked great to me (other's may disaggree)

Older versions of NCAA had more color/pop to it, but with such a focus to showcase grass blades and other visuals, it seems like colors had to be dulled down or faded so all this little stuff could be seen (my thinking).

NCAA '11 was gorgeous (esp the field grass), then bam!!! Gone....

I wonder if it's the focus on showcasing such close-ups of visuals as the reason to why there is a refusal to include some type of Camera View similar to to Fifa (not as far away though) with variable Camera angles blended in to see a greater portion of the play/field/stadium?

They're limited by hardware. The Xbox 360 came out in 2005 and would have been in development for 1-2 years before that. So they're developing games for hardware that is 8-10 years old.

We should get a big jump in graphics for the next gen systems based on the PS4 specs.

Right I understand that, but you would think they would change the player models over those 6 years at least. They have not changed much graphically but the grass and blur.

you seem surprised by this but you've played the game for the past 6 years... does this REALLY shock you?

The more polygons these consoles are capable of producing, the more difficult it gets to distinguish graphical fidelity. These upcoming next gen consoles are all about physics and particles effects.

Well said. This image really puts into perspective I think.

As far as the graphical difference, I think the issue is that they are fine details. Overall yes they look extremely similar. But as you look closer you notice things like seeing the bottom of the cleats above the ground in 08, more detailed equipment in 14, the grass does look much better in 14. I think a lot of things go unnoticed because they are such small details like the mesh in the Pro Combat pants for instance.
