Re: Hopes for presentation

I'm hoping ESPN College Gameday will be implemented in NCAA Football soon I been asking for this feature to be added for a while now. If not this current gen then next gen it should be added in no excuses.

In premise this is a good idea but practice, at least at this point, I am not so sure. Considering the virtual commentary team Tiburon added to M13, it would seem likely that to add College Gameday they would feel the need to digitize all those guys. Which would likely lead to "we laid a foundation but have to flesh it out more later" which isn't good for NCAA right now, imo.

That said, if EA Tiburon could practice moderation and only use that graphic as a pregame show type thing each week, that might be cool. Segue into that as if the gamer is just catching the portion of the show where the guys are making their picks for the week and Corso picks the prop for the marquee game, then transitioning the gamer out to our game. I just can't see them doing something tasteful like that though given there record for having to take something recognizable like that to the extreme and not in a good way.

This area does not require a creative brainstorm session or fan wishlists at this point, just watch some college games on various networks, including more local networks for their home teams because not every game is some nationally televised spectacle and copy that. No need for complicated elements like multiple commentary teams yet, just have varying overlay packages to denote the bigger nationally televised games, from the more local network games. The broadcast package for UNC is different when I'm watching on my local network than when they happen to have a national or primetime game, NCAA needs to reflect that with the broadcast graphics. I know EA can do it because that's what they did with NCAA basketball 10, so c'mon Tiburon.

Keep the real time Dynasty ticker, get rid of the game breaks by Reese and institute a simple weekly wrap up show. Nothing major and over the top which will become repetitive and slow to expand on, just something simple. I know there are 120 schools but only 12 Users can be in a Dynasty at once and there only so many nationally relevant games. The ticker pretty much takes care of the scores and breaking news in general, so let the show focus on any Users games, the other major games that week and general info like conference standings, Heisman watch, league leaders, major injuries, etc. That may sound like a huge undertaking but it's mainly just graphical text packages with generic audio. Nothing I have named is new or innovative, stop trying to create something better and just copy what's already be done well.

They could use conference networks for the regional games/conference games, ex: Big 12 Network, Big East Network, SEC Network, etc.
If possible, team specific networks or a "local ESPN affilliate" for local games; ex: Longhorn Network, Mountaineer Sports Network, etc.

Re: Hopes for presentation

^^ That actually makes a ton of sense. The SEC network is broadcast as a part of ESPN so I'm sure they could use that package for certain games. That would be great just to spice up the broadcasts.

I would love it if they could do something like that with NCAA 14 it would make a lot better.

Re: Hopes for presentation

I just don't see it with this generation on games from EA. College Hoops 2k8 did it extremely well, and for the last 6 years we've heard every excuse from EA why they couldnt do it. They can't even get the stats right, or stat overlays, or rivalry games feeling different from other games. I just don't think they have the talent to pull it off. I mean, college hoops had a ABL league like an aau league so that you can get a better look at a player before you recruit him. They also had postgame show, and an end of week show, and also an selection show. EA has nothing close to this. You can't even look at a recruits high school numbers. EA can't even give us more than 70 players. Why? IDK.

Re: Hopes for presentation

Am I the only one who thinks Brent Mustburger would be a great addition to this game? Even it was for the GotW and the bowl games. Ive always wanted Vern Lundquist, Gary Danielson, and Tracy Wolfe from CBS for the SEC games and the Army/Navy game.

Re: Hopes for presentation

we dont even have to go all the way back to college hoops 2k8. NCAA Basketball 10 did a excellent job with the ESPN integration
