It was nice knowing you NCAA football series. You play with fire long enough, you will get burned and it looks like EA finally got burned.

Couldn't EA just randomize the players based on a team overall and continue making games? I would be surprised if this completely kills the series.

They could, but once damages are laid out, and penalties against future iterations (which could include the end of roster editing). NCAA would effectively become APF.

Well it’s not like they were getting the job done making the game anyway...This could spell the end for NCAA FB as we know it but I really don’t care for EA or the NCAA for robbing the consumer and players for years...Don’t know how things will end but props to Ed O’Bannon for be steadfast…

From reading both documents, it still seems like a grey area. It is not a straight forward, black and white case. This article just took a quote from the other article and when you read the other one in a flow, it doesn't make this one seem that serious. For now it's just talking about their arguments. Possibilities really don't even stand out to me.

Ah, I didn't think of future penalties. Could the court really make them take out roster editing?

I just don't see EA shelving this game. As long as they can make it they will.

This case could be tied up in appeals for years. EA still has a solid defense in the fact that they never actually named the players. Obviously a jury may not see it that way, but its a good argument none the less.

In these types of cases, when you fight a huge corporation like EA its tough to win. Lots of people see it as greed, and a jury might too.

Then again, I could be totally wrong. I learned everything I know about the legal system watching Law & Order.

If true about the billions of dollars, this just doesn't just affect NCAA, but EA as a whole company. Madden, FIFA, NHL, NBA Live, etc...
