That's not true he's a free-agent.

Some of these players will be included because they are free-agents and apart of the NFLPA even though they might not be on active rosters.

I don't get excited about this mode though because really on the surface it looks appealing but how many of those players do we really expect to play the way they are suppose to play on the field?

I'd be shocked if Barry Sanders ran any different from Mark Ingram in the game. The best part about this mode will be (EA) can use actual player likeness for those players heads/faces in the game.

Other than that I really don't think they spend the time and resources actually making sure those players will replicate their true tendencies or signature style of play on the field.

This is where NBA2K gets it right when including legends/classic players and EA fails.
