The real National Champ decided here

The tournament teams and seedings were decided by taking all 11 conference winners (not including independents) and 5 at-large teams(decided by the combined rankings of the AP and Coaches poll) The seedings were also decided by the combined rankings of AP and Coaches poll. Each game in the tournament is played at a current bowl game sight (so they can still make there money). Here's how the tournament would look.

1.USC (11-1)(Pac-10)
vs. (Liberty Bowl)
16.North Texas (9-3) (Sun-Belt)

8.Kansas State (11-3) (Big-12)
vs. (Tangerine Bowl)
9.Florida State (10-2)(ACC)

4.Michigan (10-2) (Big-10)
vs. (Insight.com Bowl)
13.Boise State (12-1) (WAC)

12.Miami of Ohio (12-1) (Mid-American)
vs. (Alamo Bowl)
5.Texas (10-2) (At-Large)

3.Oklahoma (12-1) (At-Large)
vs. (Las Vegas Bowl)
14.Utah (9-2) (Mountain West)

11.Georgia (10-3)(At-Large)
vs. (Peach Bowl)
6.Ohio State (10-2) (At-Large)

7.Tennessee (10-2) (At-Large)
vs. (Gator Bowl)
10.Miami (10-2) (Big East)

15.Southern Miss. (9-3) (Conference USA)
vs. (Holiday Bowl)
2.LSU (12-1) (SEC)

I'm gonna let the AI play these games out and see what happens. I'll post the results to see who would be the real national champ in video game land.

Quarter-Finals

FSU 7 - 0 - 0 - 7 - 14
USC 0 - 3 - 0 - 7 - 10

Matt Leinart was 17-35 for 227 Yards for USC, but his 2 interceptions were too much for the Trojans to overcome. Greg Jones had 93 rushing yards, 27 Receiving yards and 1 TD to lead FSU into the Semi-Finals.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Texas 0 - 16 - 7 - 3 - 26
Michigan 7 - 0 - 0 - 0 - 7

Chance Mock threw for two touchdowns, both caught by B.J. Johnson. John Navarre was 11-29 for 188 yards , 1 TD, and 2 Interception in his final game as a Wolverine.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oklahoma 0 - 20 - 0 - 7 - 27
Ohio State 14 - 0 - 3 - 3 - 20

Ohio State jumped out to an early lead when they were able to capitalize on two Oklahome turnovers. But, QB Jason White led the Sooners back into the game going 15-29 for 223 yards and 2 touchdowns. Ohio State had the ball late with an opportunity to tie the game, but was held on 4 straight downs by the Oklahome defense.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Miami 7 - 20 - 7 - 0 - 34
LSU 7 - 0 - 0 - 0 - 7

LSU scored first and looked to be manhandling Miami early in the game. However, as the game went on the Miami defense was able to get pressure on LSU Quarterback, Matt Mauck, which led to him throwing 6 interceptions. 2 of the Interceptions came from Miami LB D.J. Williams. He returned both interceptions for touchdowns to spark the Hurricanes. Sean Taylor also added two picks for the Canes.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Semi-Final Matchups

FSU (12-2) vs Texas (12-2) at the Rose Bowl
-Both FSU and Texas' defenses have looked strong allowing 13 and 17 points respectively. However the Texas offense is averaging 30.5 points per game, while FSU is scoring only 15.5. Texas quarterback Chance Mock has looked strong in the first two games and hopes to keep it up and lead the Longhorns into the championship game.

Oklahoma (14-1) vs Miami (12-2) at the Orange Bowl
-The Hurricanes had struggled during the regular season, but have come on strong in the post season. Oklahoma had a tough game against Ohio State and hopes to rebound with the same type of intensity against the Canes.

With the possiblity of a Miami vs FSU or a Oklahoma vs Texas National championship the semi-finals are sure to be two intense football games. I'll update again when the Semi-Finals are complete.

Re: The real National Champ decided here

This is the way I would like to see college football go. Include all of the conferences in a 16 team tournament. And don't give me that BS about missed class time because most schools are off from mid-December to mid-January anyway for Christmas break.

Too bad EA took the option to have a tournament out of NCAA Football. The Playstation version a few years back had an option of completing the season with a tournament or with bowls. You could have a real national champion. This is one of the big things I'd like to see added to NCAA 2005.

Re: The real National Champ decided here

Like what your doing. Looking at the game by game scoring and stats is interesting and fun. And it just gives you a taste of what could be. Not only does Ncaa 2004 let us play the game, and recruit etc., it can let us live out our playoff dreams too.
