That's also a decade ago...but I agree they should be at least a 2

No doubt. A decade is forever ago. But Duke just went to their first bowl game since 1997 last season. One bowl game in 18 years.

In the timeframe, the Cougs have been to two Rose Bowls, and two Holiday Bowls.

Just some food for thought.

EA too liberal as usual.

I'm a Canes Fan based on recent history at max we should be a 4

Penn State at a 5 given the current sanctions they at best should be a 2

USC still at 6 on probation and sanctions and underachieving last season seems like even a 5 is stretch.

too many programs ranked with 3* to name. There must be a huge curve for 3* programs because on one end you have teams like BC and Ole Miss who've been absolutely dreadful the last few years and then teams like Cinncy and UCLA who've contended for their conference titles recently.

I agree that Texas and Miami are to high, but i wouldn't say Miami should be a 3...they always have top 25 draft classes..they just haven't made the next step yet, I'd give them a 4 and Texas a 4 as well.

Re: NCAA 14 - Prestige Ratings

I think the prestige ratings actually do a good job of representing real life prestige.

If you are a low-prestige program, then people take a 'what have you done for me lately?' mentality. It's awful hard to change the perception that you are a crappy program, and people will only change their minds if you have several good years.

On the flipside, high-prestige programs tend to retain their prestige even with a few bad years. Texas has had some bad years, but people are willing to ignore that to a point because it's still Texas.

I'm not saying this is just or right, but this is how it is in real life, and I think EA does a good job of capturing that (for the most part).

Re: NCAA 14 - Prestige Ratings

I contacted the guy who released the list on twitter and he said Kansas State was 4 stars, and Iowa State was 2 stars. Now the list is complete.

@QuarterbackNews" Sure. Iowa State (2). Kansas State (4). "

That's surprising. After our run in '10 at 13-1 we got a 3 star ever since, and we've had two mediocre seasons, still a 3 star.
