Defensive Minded.....

Anybody know how I can block shed? I always play as the MLB and on those read option plays I'm always ready to get the qb If he keeps it. Sometimes I'll beat the blocker and nail the qb after he keeps it. Now once the o-line grabs me I can't get free. I use to attack the mesh point by shooting through the a gap slow enough to read the play. If the rb gets it I'll hit him but, If the qb keeps it I'll run him down from behind.

Re: Defensive Minded.....

check out the skills training on the demo (Oklahoma Defense). Pretty sure block shedding is done with the right analog stick (left or right).

That's with the DT when playing the run. I seem to have to disengage with the left stick but, It's not all the way effective. Practice mode should solve almost all of these little problems. Thanks though.

Re: Defensive Minded.....

hmm, you would think it would shed the block no matter what two players are engaged.

right stick is block shedding no matter what position you are playing as. it just doesnt work a lot of the time because, well, in real life linebackers cant shed lineman when they get their hands on them most of the time.

Re: Defensive Minded.....

I think this is a huge need and needs to be added. I always play with MLB and i get eaten up by blocks on runs. Only way is to run a circle around the block. I should be able to shed a block left or right with some success at least every so often rather than being engulfed for 5 seconds like every OL is Orlando Pace.

Re: Defensive Minded.....

The amped up run blocking will likely require some slider tuning because the OL has a death grip on run blocks in the demo.

Re: Defensive Minded.....

Honestly I think this will only be an issue in the demo. I get the feeling that the EA team purposefully jacked up the OL's ability to run block just for the demo in order to show off all the new options/runs. I mean, its a better problem to have (for right now) than if they couldn't block, and a lot of people couldn't experience all the coool stuff they added as a selling point.

Anyways, for the majority of the market, everyone knows offense sells, whether in real life or video games.
