Players named in demo?

I did a quick search and couldn't find the answer but why are players named now instead of just QB #8 or DE #52 or whatever it used to be? Thanks.

Yea the game adds random player names to the players in the demo when you play a game.

They're just fake names, but I'm not completely sure why.

im gonna take a wild guess and say it will be the same way when its released. its probably to do with the lawsuit.

The players would have to be paid royalties and the NCAA forbids it.

yep probably has everything to do with lawsuits.

I think a good way around this stuff (lawsuits) is to just use all former players under the nflpa to make up rosters LOL!

They just take the ultimate team players and use them to make up the entire roster file.

That way we can real players without any threat of lawsuits hanging over EA's head.

I just hate the fake generic named players.

What difference does it make if they use numbers or random names? We only have to deal with them for a few weeks until the named rosters are finished and uploaded into the EA Locker.

If they used former players to fill out the rosters I think they'd still have to pay them, something I don't think they'd want to do.
