NCAA 14 QB Completion Percentage "A Deeper Look"

I have seen a lot of posts about the QB's completion percentages in NCAA 14. So I decided to take a closer look.

AJ McCarron #17 in the nation at 67% QBR 175.3
Marcus Mariota #7 at 68.5% QBR 163.2
Johnny Manziel #9 at 68% QBR 155.3
Braxton Miller #80 at 58.3% QBR 140.5
Logan Thomas #110 at 51.3% QBR 115.9
Devin Gardner N/A at 59.5% QBR 161.7

Well, numbers don't lie. We have some of the best QB's in the game in the demo. You guys have to make your on determination?

But these teams have some of the best defenses in nation also. These guys usually put higher than average completion % against lower quality teams and lower % against good quality teams.

On the demo I routinely see these guys going for 80%+ against some of the better defenses on the game. Imagine what they do against a low quality team.

It is the demo so much of that could change in the retail version. I've heard the sliders aren't doing much. That will likely be improved. The AI could be tuned. I don't know that we can make a very educated judgement on the game just yet.

This is just one area where EA hasn't gottn it right. They don't program in over throws, throws in the dirt, throws that sail into the sideline, stuff like that.

Hopefully next gen.

Most incompletions are dropped passes or INTs right now

history says the retail will be worse than the demo in most gameplay areas. Yeah they may eliminate bugs but gameplay gets nerfed somehow.

also like some else posted the in-completions are not varied...

point being what we saw in the demo is what will be shipped, it may get worse but i cant remember it getting better....

Why would it likely be improved if it has been this way for years?

When I can get a good push from a DT or DE, I see a good amount of bad throws from the AI. I think composure has to be factored in as well. If I can get a hit or two on the AI early in the game. They seem to become more erratic with their throws.
