Rent the game form red box or something, install it using that, and you can play it with the scratched disc. It worked for me in madden last year.

No need to do all these other things - Just return it to Wal-Mart, they will exchange it.

Conversely, you can rent the game from a Red Box, install it, then return the game. Your Xbox doesn't need to be able to read the disc to play it, it just needs to be able to see that you have a valid disc in the device. I had something similar happen to one of my games. None of those disc repair tricks seem to work but, then again, they're probably meant for tiny scratches, not that giant ring that an Xbox can grind into your discs. Good luck!

Just bring the game back to Wal-Mart and tell them it won't play. They will exchange it. You just can't get your money back since they they do that for any type of game or cd that's been open. It'll work, I've done it more than once.

Go to a movie/video rental store. Rent the game and slip the bad disk into the case. Go back the next day or later that same day (Hopefully after shift change) and tell them you rented the game and it was like that. Or if you didn't have to put a deposit down on it. Just send it in. I done it a few years ago and it worked.

I work for Walmart, they will exchange it as long as you have your receipt. Especially if you say you want to exchange it for the same item, makes it even easier on them.
