Re: Draw plays not worth calling?

the draws worked so well in madden 13 but I cant seem to have any success with them this year. It seems like the running back takes forever to get going and I always get stopped by people who are only rushing 1 or 2 guys.

Re: Draw plays not worth calling?

I'm not having as much trouble running the draw play. I tend to play a little backward than common playcalling. I tend to pass to set up the run. I also look at the defensive alignment before committing to a draw play. If there's seven or eight in the box, I tend to audible out. If it's a three-man front or if I have more guys on the line than they do, I'll commit and run the draw.

I haven't had much success with draws plays either. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the sliders I'm using. When I run draw plays I always have a d-linemen make a shoestring tackle on my hb. Wiith 50 speed threshold it seems to happen less often.

Gotta be successful passing the ball a lot first.

It helps to be willing to run a draw on third & long occasionally.

I think if you go into practice mode and run some draw plays against Quarters: Cover 4, you'll find that they are effective.

In game situations, they are probably less effective against the CPU than they are against a human opponent because CPU playcalling is more unpredictable. But if you are playing against a human, and he consistently rushes 3 and drops everyone back in zone on 3rd and long, a draw play could be very effective.

Another tip would be to never call a draw play from the huddle. Just audible to them based on the defense that you see.

The little green chain links on the play art in the playcall screen. Normally on a run and a PA off that run. When you have success with one, the linked play will flash "Set-up"
