I believe you can turn the helpers off in the menus. They come up automatically on varsity and below. They are seen when you access the play are on all american and above.

It's quite simple. Hike the ball. Watch the defender on the end you're supposed to. If he starts stepping in place, hold X again. This gives the RB the ball and the defender can't get to him in time.

What happens more often, is the defender simply barrels in, in which case you press nothing. He attacks your RB. Let him. Then you just run to the outside and up the field. It's VERY effective. Your QB ends up with A LOT of rushing yardage, as the defender usually goes after the RB.

If he steps in place, press X.
If he doesn't, press nothing.
