what determines a player getting drafted?

is the overall rating of the player the only reason why they get drafted or do stats actually play a role in draft status. I had a 88 overall WR who finished the year with 107 catches 1,200 yards and 8 TD's but went completely undrafted. I then started another season and had a MLB 87 overall who did absolutely nothing in his senior year and got drafted in the 5th round.

Height and Weight, and sometimes Overall.

I had no one drafted as Penn State, even with a 90 overall linebacker that was eligible.

Thats a really great question. I wonder if there could be a situation where a graduating player in the high 80s who you really like isnt eligible to be drafted in Madden when you import. It could definately effect the realism of the draft at certain positions.

Re: what determines a player getting drafted?

After my first season teddy bridgewater had the 2nd highest overall at qb and wasn't drafted. He was around a 97overall. AJ mccarron was rated just below him had a 1st round grade. So I'm wondering if teddy will be in the draft class or not.

Purely size and overall, not statistics. I had a RS Senior QB who I was terrible with on the field but he had 95 overall 6'6 so he went 2nd round.

Re: what determines a player getting drafted?

I don't edit my players, I like to let my recruiting dictate such things, HOWEVER, if they are graduating seniors, and they were athletes, or guys who switched positions(Say S,to ILB) or someone undersized along the DL, they won't get in, so I will go ahead and edit their size ratings when they play their final game. that way they go pro.

I already had a QB who was a 95 but too small, a center who was too small, a TE, a BEAST of an ILB....so I learned, and now I make sure my OL are the right weight etc.

I enjoy sending these guys into madden, and even some QB who wasn't on my team, but I played in a tough rivalry game, I will remember, and if he is too small to make it into madden, that is a true shame, so I just make sure the teams I play...their players don't get screwed either
