Most Frustrating Edition of NCAA Football

This year's game is without a doubt the most frustrating version of the game that I have ever played. I am in an online dynasty and I have spent the past two days trying to play through two weeks of my season. We are in the second year of our dynasty. I have played and won several games this season, only for the game to freeze upon completion or to have a screen pop up that says "Commisioner has made changes to league, you must reload dynasty," which then deletes my result. Since I am the commissioner, there is no way that I could have made a change to the dynasty while I was in the middle of the game. This has occurred multiple times and has resulted in two broken controllers so far (oops!).
Also, the horrible flow of the gameplay just adds to the frustration. I can be running for a first down and a linebacker will step over and make a basic tackle, which somehow superhumanly sends my running back flying 7 yards the opposite way or sends him into a complete spin. This, for lack of a better word, "stupid" gameplay just makes me want to turn the game off.
Also, one thing I have noticed is an abundance of dropped passes. I can throw to my receiver on a curl route on third down, who is wide open for a first down, and he will drop the ball half of the time. I looked after one game and my leading receiver, Blair Roberts from ODU had 8!!!! dropped passes. If you drop 8 passes in a single game, you should not be playing college football.

I don't play OD's so I can't discuss that, but I'll hit on your other topics.

"Stupid" Gameplay, as you put it...I haven't seen it. I've never seen a basic tackle send a runner back 7 yards. I've seen very realistic play for the most part.

As for dropped passes. What is their catch rating? When I play with San Jose State/Texas State I see 4-5 drops a game easily, especially over the shoulder. When I played with Maryland I may have seen 1-2 drops a game. Reason being? I had much higher rated receivers with higher rated catching. There is a simple fix if you want your receivers to catch every pass...Change the sliders.

I see this type of gameplay a lot on my PS3. I have been sacked by a tackle and my QB will do a backflip and end up on his stomach. Kind of comical really.

And I am not sure what their catch ratings are, and I agree that it should affect a lot of the deeper routes and contested plays, but an uncontested curl route in the middle of the field with no defenders around should not be dropped more than once per game... more than once per season really. Just seems like the game is trying to screw me over or something lol

Re: Most Frustrating Edition of NCAA Football

Do you watch alot of college football? There are a ton of drops every game. I very rarely see them when my WR/RB is facing the QB though. Mostly when I'm throwing over the shoulder or a deep slant.

I haven't really seen the issues with dropped passes or tackling. Perhaps tell your receivers to focus on making the catch instead of being able to break tackles right away?

On a sidenote, it's funny you mention that your WR us Blair Roberts. I played against him in high school basketball every year. I didn't realize he ended up going D1

Re: Most Frustrating Edition of NCAA Football

I've seen the dropped passes...but its to be expected when you play with freaking Eastern Michigan. They dropped so many passes IRL, one last year that could have possibly put away the biggest upset they've probably ever against Michigan State. I remember it clearly...receiver breaks wide open into the endzone, QB threw a beautiful pass, and receiver dropped it. After that, MSU scored 14 unanswered and put Eastern away.

Usually this forum is filled with posts like this, but NCAA14 is really great and people complaining are the minority this year. It's nice.

I think this could possibly be one of my problems. I may be trying to make a move to quickly after the ball comes in contact with my receiver, which would make sense.

And yes, although he is technically not D1 this year with Old Dominion, he will be next year. Besides all the dropped balls in my dynasty, the kid is a stud!
