No because in the playoff system, the Rose Bowl is till the Big Ten Champion vs. the PAC-12 Champion and the Sugar Bowl agreed to have it be the Big XII Champion vs. the SEC Champion.

Re: Conference Realignment Guide

Multi-level question:

When fiddling with conference realignment...
1. If I add Notre Dame and Boise State to the Big 12 to get them to 12 teams, is a conference championship game automatically added?
2. If not, can I manually add one? Is this possible?
3. Can I add divisions where currently there are no separate ones?

Thanks in advance,

Once you hit 12 teams it automatically makes a random Div A and Div B which you can rename and make protected rivals if you want and it will make a conference championship as well.

The problem with having locked rivalries in the expanded Big Ten, is it increases the league schedule to 9 games, and decreases the non conference games to 3. The Big Ten will have just 8 conference games for at least the next few years.

If you choose no locked rivalries, which there will be none IRL, then the schedule stays at 8 conference games and 4 non conference games.

Except that there will be ONE locked rivalry (Purdue-Indiana) so either way just depends one what you prefer.

Last I heard was that the Big Ten was staying with an 8 game schedule for the first 2 years (2014 and 2015) then going to a 9 game schedule.

I'd rather have the 8 game schedule for the first couple years, then add in the locked rivalry in year 2016.
