Losing points because you havent offered scholarship yet?

You were saying when its best to offer scholarships.. no where did I ask that.. I asked for peoples experiences with waiting long to offer scholarships and if they noticed sudden point drops like I did in my dynasty.

I would think that discussing what week to offer would be in the same topic of conversation as what week you start losing points for an offer, but maybe that's just me.

I am in year 3 of recruiting (2 in playing) and I too held out on offering on a number of guys in hopes of getting the 20% commit and yes, you are correct in that it seems to work SEVERELY against you which really makes a lot of sense in real life. If a player doesn't have an offer in real life deeper into the season, he will begin to pay attention to the schools who have much more.

In my opinion EA should at least explain how this works.

In regards to your question, BleedGreen, I have seen a hit occur from not having offered a scholarship after having the player on my board for a few weeks while other schools have offered.

I also notice a bigger bonus when I put a player on my board (late gems) and offer a scholarship right away, rather than waiting.

I am curious to see if it's a specific week that this 'hit' occurs (like mentioned weeks 5-6) or if it's after a certain period of time of the player being on your board without the offer (maybe 4-6 weeks).

If you have the Kitchen Sink trait (head coach's recruiting skill tree), you can offer more than 500 to a player (up to 700 when maxed out).

There's a branch on the skill tree that increases it for the first 6 weeks and last 6 weeks of the season
