I dont know how many of you are old enough to remember, but back in the early days of the SNES there was a title called Super Play Action Football. It included a fully licensed NFL game, but also an unlicensed college title, and a customizable high school game too.

The college game used abbreviations as names, and had the general colors of the schools with no logos, and used numbers for names. Something similar would at least be something. I remember that game fondly.

At some point I see there being a dramatic change in what constitutes the NCAA, whether "super conferences" succeed or the NCAA changes it's stance on athlete compensation. Hopefully at that point we can see a new game.

Sadly, probably not.

2K Sports would probably need to invest a lot of money (that they don't have) to take their football engine and upgrade it to something compatible with the current gen/next gen.

Of course only time can tell but the odds are not promising.

It isn't going to happen. The team as been disbanded.

We'll be lucky EA Sports or anyone forms a NCAA Football dev team ever again. Probably depends on what EA's marketing team says.
