Coaching skills in dynasty

I'm playing an offline dynasty with USC but I am thinking of leaving to go to a new program. I believe I read somewhere that once you leave your coach skills go back to 1? Is this true? Kind of dumb to be at level 27, leave and "forget" everything to the point where you are a level 1.

Anyone experience this or am I mistaken?

You dont lose them. You re-allocate them.

I started out as the OC for Washington State. After four years I moved to the HC of NC State for 2 years. Then I became the OC of Oklahoma for 2 years before moving to Penn State to be the OC for a year and then I became the HC of Wisconsin. Never had to go back to level just reassigned my skills.

I will say this if you go from HC to DC or OC and are above level 27 you wont get any xp. You have to become a HC to start gaining XP.
