trying to fix a crash with a procedure

My PS3 game has a tendency to freeze shortly after going to replay and when I hit the X button when I am in hurry up in coach mode.

Thinking of saving my dynasty file, then deleting the game, re-installing it, then overwriting the new dynasty file with the old one.

A) Has anyone tried this? Will it work?

B) And for our computer savvy friends, does it even matter?
