64 Team Playoff

I will be playing through a 64 team playoff as it is shown in this image.

I will play as the underdog, or as my Texas Tech Red Raiders. Should be interesting, and if I do it to completion I will be shocked. Ill probably play a couple games tonight and see what happens.

I am using the Buffeye rosters, and the community sliders slightly adjusted to my liking (really just RBLK at 0 for human and RDEF for CPU at 75 although I may end up bumping that up more). EDIT: I have switched to the Infinity Unleashed set. Running is much too easy on AA offense.

I hope you will enjoy.

Re: 64 Team Playoff

First game was a great one between NIU (me!) and Boise State. I am a terrible Pistol user, and throughout most of the game I was fretting the fact that I was wasting the skills of such a fantastic starting QB.

It was a defensive battle till the 4th, when there was a small explosion of points. The three Boise State turnovers were the difference. NIU will play the winner of Ohio State-Miss State.

Re: 64 Team Playoff

Texas A&M-Navy was the next matchup I decided to play. Navy is a decent underdog ratings wise, and A&M has JF. I decided to roll Navy.

It was a pretty good game. I'm more of an Air Raid guy, so running the flex was a fun challenge. I was able to take a 7-0 lead on the first drive, and I tried playing ball control to limit JFs opportunities.

We had several big drops. One was right before half in the endzone on a slant, and another was late in the game down one on 3rd and 10 on a comeback route.

It sucks that scrambling QBs play in such a way that makes them less of a challenge, Manziel should have torched us for so much more.

Anywho. I am down to take requests for my next game. This is actually more fun than I thought it would be.

I had an OL called for pass interference. Never seen that before.

Re: 64 Team Playoff

Texas-Penn State was the next match up I did. I did not play this one. I did CPU vs CPU with thedudedominick's set that he uses for this mode. Texas offensively did enough, and shut out Penn State 23-0. A fun game to watch.

Ill be doing Fresno State-Houston next.

Re: 64 Team Playoff

I like the idea of this. Although with you playing as the underdog, you're likely going to see a lot more upsets than realistic results. So while the end result might be surprising, it probably wont be accurate.
And looking at the Bracket... critically as I would do in March, I wonder why Florida State wasn't put in the South. And why Stanford wasn't in the West.
But great job. I hope you have fun. Let us know how it turned out.
BTW, are the games on neutral fields?

Yeah it happens when you throw downfield on a screen play. It's more of an illegal man downfield penalty.

Yeah, playing as an underdog was pretty much for that reason alone. I am about to play one right now. Utah State and LSU.

I do play on a neutral field. I usually pick a random bowl that would make geographic sense depending on who is playing.

To be fair, I pretty tweaked the sliders after I gashed LSU for the first two drives. 0 RBL and 75 RDF was what I played with the rest of the game after I got up 10-0.

LSU played dumb. I am thinking up upping QBACC, but may play another to see if it wasn't an anomaly. Part of the reason I wanted to do this was to get a slider set ready for my Tech dynasty ill be starting after the current real season is over.

Anywho, it was a good game. Utah State actually has some decent players on the Buffeye roster, which was helpful. I may play a game tomorrow, but chances are ill be rocking out some Rocksmith 2014! Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays!

EDIT: I will be updating the playoff bracket soon.
