When playing as a 3-star presitige school in NCAA 2004, it was very hard to even consider a 5-star recruit to come to your school, so finding a top player on an average school was extrememly rare. This is not the case in real life though:

Manning on Ole Miss (above average, but Manning helped a lot too)
Roethlisberger on Miami (OH)
Tomlinson on TCU
Losman on Tulane
D. Robinson on North Carolina
Jason Babin on Western Michigan

Just a few examples from this years (and the 2001) draft. Anyone else agree?

With transfers this year, players will be looking for places where they can make an impact early on. So us fat cat 6-star teams will have to work harder to get blue chippers and a decent 3 or 4 star team can sneak in there and take one.

Re: Will we see more 5-star players attending smaller schools?

were those guys(outside of Manning who's father attended Ole Miss) 5 stars at the time they were recruited?

Or did they just turn into great players after being middle of the pack recruits???

Manning was a top recruit...so was Losman...but he signed with UCLA and then transfered to Tulane. Those others guys were not considered 5 star guys...infact...most those guys were not even recruited by big schools.

Didn't we all see a ton of top players going to small schools in NCAA '04 anyway? I can't tell you how many times I saw the nations' top players head off to North Texas, La. Tech, or Fresno St. That was one of the reasons that those schools would always do so well in dynasties after about 3-4 years.

It happened, but mainly because the prestige level of those teams built up to the level of FSU and Miami within 3 years. They need to make it so that you can't become a 6 star school in 5 years if you start out as a 1 star school. It's going to take years and years to do it in real life, it needs to be that way in the game too.

Re: Will we see more 5-star players attending smaller schools?

I disagree with you only in the fact that FSU and Georgia and other normally high top 10 teams fall from 6 star in early years to 2 and 3 star while UNT, Boise, Air Force move up to 5 and 6 star...

I have played Southern Miss in 4 National Champ games in my current dynasty. Air Force once, UNT once, UCLA once, Fresno State once, USC once... UNT has finished the lst 4 years in the top 5 in recruiting and Florida State at 1-10 finished 110.

Needs to be corrected..
