Re: the long ball

Yeah I used to have this problem and someone told me to push up (leading) the receiver would help. It does fix it sometimes. However it doesn't always hit the WR in stride, sometimes it will be a simple overthrow.

Re: the long ball

Find me the QB who is 100% accurate with the long ball and I'll show you an AI QB who gets hit on every play. Unless you have robo QB like the AI, it's going to be necessary to lead the WR. If I don't try to lead the WR, the only way I can hit someone in stride on the long ball is to have them WIDE open. I can usually get that way using PA out of the I-form with 2 WR. I put my fastest guy on a go route and pray that the FS bites on the play fake.

Re: the long ball

I agree with FSU the left analog stick is the way to go, you can also pick which shoulder to throw the ball to. If my receiver gets the inside position I"ll throw it inside, if he gets the outside position I'll throw it outside. Just push upright or upleft on the analog stick. If you push down on the stick you're QB will throw uderthrow the ball so you're WR can come back and get the ball. So a accurate QB is a must, I know this sounds confusing but it really works!!!

Leading never worked for me, but maybe my QB's just suck.

Re: the long ball

It is rare, but I have been able to receivers in full stride. I use Notre Dame and Ohio State alot. I like throwing deep to Stovall and Jenkins. There's not really a certain play but it seems to happen when I call a hot route when the defense is playing a tight man coverage with no over the top help from the safety.

Re: the long ball

Manually catch the balls with your receivers. After throwing the ball, click on the receiver and go catch the ball. That'll fix the problem.

Re: the long ball

Guys you throw the ball and push up then switch to the WR and use the speed burst button and he will accelerate and catch the ball in stride.
