SEC. By next year it should be the ACC, since V-Tech and NC State will have reloaded. The SEC is just going to be tightest squeeze this year, LSU and Georgia are top 5 teams, and half the teams in the same conference could beat them and it wouldn't be a huge shock.

how the hell do you lump Maryland at the bottom of the ACC? They were mediocre under Vanderlinden, as they underachieved with good talent. Fridge came in and let that talent loose. IMO, clemson has been no better than UMD over that time.

UNC has had 3 losing seasons in the past 14 years--I'd hardly call them the bottom of the ACC.

Duke and Wake are the only two consistent "bottom" teams in the ACC, and Wake no longer is, and Duke may not be for much longer.

We're going by this season and not the last 14 years.

In that case, UMD is about as far from the bottom of the ACC as UNC is from the top, and the original post lacks a great deal of validity.

Apparently some of you didn't see the end of last year's sagarin ratings. The ACC was the toughest conference LAST YEAR. Now they add Miami and VT, it's gonna be even tougher.

Tech is not at the bottom of the ACC. They will have a MONSTER defense this year. One of the best D-Lines in the nation and one of the best Safeties in the nation in James Butler (already a preseason top 10 pick for next year's draft).

On offense Tech has one of the best RB's in the conference with PJ Daniels and a true freshman WR CALVIN JOHNSON (remember those names). These 2 guys are gonna be lethal. Gailey will have the boys playin this year.

The ACC is gonna be real tough.
