Good point, if your rattled cornerback is rated 90 and he's going up against a composed "75" WR, there still is a lot to think about. I didn't know about a timeout helping-that's a nice touch.

I love NCAA but this new matchup stick seems like it will take a lot of skill out of the game. For instance this feature will allow you to just find where the other team is weak and you can call an audible to attack that player.

And if you do the defense or offense can send out a counter of their own, with an audible and/or manual double team maneuver or whatever. I wonder how the CPU's AI will take into consideration these matchups?

Exactly, if a person does start to target one player(CB especially) that can be a advantage to the defense, every body knows were the ball is going. Free Safety anyone?

I hope it works out well.

Really though it makes the user lazy and not having to really know personal/teams well. All you have to do is press a button and you can go from there to see a breakdown of each player after every play. Maybe EA wanted a more mass appeal to non hardcore NCAA fans.

I really do hope it works, I thought last years was the best football game to date, and I hope this years doesn;t disappoint!

I'd say quite the opposite, adding composure, rattled players and putting the user into situations where seniors and older players are more valuable appeals to the more hardcore fan, casual fans probably don't even know who the older seniors who are less likely to get rattled are.

Re: I have a problem with the matchup stick.

It almost seems like basketball. I mean, you call timeouts in basketball to get your players head's right. Most times in football timeouts are called to prevent delay of game, to stop the game clock or to attempt to ice a kicker. I've never seen a timeout called with the intent to compose football players. *shrugs*
