You WILL have to manual catch most balls if you want to succeed in NCAA '05.
It's gonna be a different game, so get ready.

While I agree it will be a different game, I seriously doubt that we'll have to manually catch most passes.

this is true , for all u cheeserz who like the cpu to catch for u are in trouble ! u gotta catch ur own balls this year or ur gonna see alot of dropped passes !

For those of you who are used to letting the CPU play the game for you... better wipe the dust off of 2004 and get practicing.

first off why would u have a inferior player matched up with a superior player , hes going to get beat regardless composed or not !!!!

Sometimes your available roster will dictate such a matchup and you'll have no choice, right?

If you want to be good you will have to manual catch. This is coming from a friend who has played 2005.
Just warning you now, you should go practice with 2004 manual catching.

Well, some of us like to rely on our ability to read defenses and let the ratings takeover rather than seeing how our "stick" skills match up. But to each their own, although I would hate for you to be punished for not taking control of a receiver to catch the ball when he is open.

What's the joke?

Well BB, the way I see it under that scenario is an even more lopsided matchup, begging for the disadvantaged side to make some type of adjustment. Just because a player's got a 87-70 player rating advantage doesn't mean the advantage can't get even bigger.

Re: I have a problem with the matchup stick.

I always thought more emphasis should be put on the gamer's skill, but too much and you lose the sim value. Are there some gamers who don't even take control of the RB on running plays? I guess that wouldn't be to their advantage.
