Offensive Playbook for Bama

Hey guys, just curious at to what y'all would suggest as the most accurate playbook for Bama, considering that we've obviously switched OC since the game came out. Should the default Bama book be best, or the USC playbook (where Kiffin was), or some other, maybe generic book? thanks

Roll tide!

Kiffin isn't running anything like he ran at USC. Heavy pistol and shotgun. Two things he didn't do at USC. Default Bama or something with lots of pistol.

Re: Offensive Playbook for Bama

Would add some more pistol into it, and increase the passing tendency a little more.

They aren't passing more this season, runny Henry out of the pistol a lot.

Re: Offensive Playbook for Bama

so would y'all recommend going with default Bama book, default USC, or taking one and making (which) changes?

Default Bama is closer. USC is nothing like what Kiffin is now running.

The UTEP playbook also has some Pistol and Shotgun options.

This isn't completely true.

He's running similar stuff to his later USC stuff but with different formations. I'm working on an authentic Bama playbook as we speak but he uses so many different formations and concepts so it is very hard to find the right balance.

378 is the worst number in mathematics.

My playbook creation is all based on cutups of Alabama games I watch on youtube. I'll make a note of the play, form, concept, and any other notes (motions, etc.) and make a list that I use to form it. Problem is, I've counted at least 40 different formations and that's too many.

A hybrid of Alabama's and USC's is the most accurate, IMO. (I'm also using film from 2014's playbook with Cooper's influences in it)

A few general notes I'd make

He uses a lot of presnap motion. I have a ton of plays with green routes in it for the FL and SE to run.

A lot "flex" formations where the slot is on the LOS instead of the X/Z WRs.

Almost no offset RB packages.
