Re: Job Security

Jim Harbaugh is now sitting at 1-3 and 47 Job Security so I'm hoping he gets canned. Lane Kiffen has A or A+ prestige so I'm hoping to get that job!

Just know that security can skyrocket with just 1-2 wins. It depends on the team. I was 0-3 at the start of the season and dropped to 62%. One win and I was back at 100%.

Granted this was with a 1* team. I wouldn't get too excited unless he's under 50% with 1-2 weeks left.

exactly with my expierence with michigan they dont fire coaches to often. ive seen there coach both hoke and harbaugh be there for 4 or 5 years where they have had as little as 4 or 5 five and no more than 8 wins in those years. it was with multiple dynasties to. but ive also seen penn st fire james franklin after 1 year of 9 wins.

Re: Job Security

to add to my point above i just checked Miami Fl im in year 2017 just finished getting ready to play the bowls. al golden has records of:
2013: 8-5 bowl win
2014: 7-6
2015: 8-5 bowl win
2016: 7-6 bowl win
2017: 6-6
miami has a target of 9 wins and golden is sitting at 72% security at low

Re: Job Security

I've noticed the bigger schools tend to hang onto a coach as he fluctuates around the win goals per season.

I've been trying to get to Ole Miss on seveveral different dynasties but usually it takes 6-7 seasons. I've noticed Freeze will win for several seasons, then have a losing record for three. The as soon as he's below 40% he'll win out and get an extension.

I call it the "Houston Nutt" philosophy of coaching.

Re: Job Security

Good point in the post above. When I was hoping to get to Boise State I had to wait out for 3 straight losing seasons.

Re: Job Security

Even back in NCAA '12 I have seen the same thing. "Major" programs are more reluctant to make big coaching changes where as schools like Akron and Rice may rotate coaches in every other season. Granted I only have three years of data with this, but those are the trends I am seeing. That all being said, I have seen schools like Clemson and Auburn become fed up with multiple seasons of underperforming and move in another direction. All in all, I have found the system to be very realistic, at least for me.

Re: Job Security

Reading the posts in this thread lends some support to my suspicion that there is, hidden either in the hard-code or accessible in game files externally, a variable for the 'enthusiasm' of a program's fanbase or perhaps the zealousness/involvement of boosters.

I have been coaching ECU for 10 years now (after being promoted from OC) and want the University of Kentucky job. The current UK coach has met the absolute minimum of goals and little more during his 7- or 8-year tenure. I play as UK's opponent in every bowl game recently--in an attempt to defeat UK--in hopes it will affect his job security. Unrelatedly, however, what I've noticed in the 3 or 4 UK bowl games I have played, the opponent has always been the home team but UK has a disproportionate volume of fans in attendance. Now, in Lexington, football isn't basketball but the UK fanbase is known for its fanaticism and traveling well.

Apologies for shifting the topic, the discussion just prompted me to do so.
