I can't speak for older games though.
I meant Ask Coach. I'm on 14. And it is not always a field goal just because it says so. Not in my experience as of a few games ago. It said field goal on the 3 yard line and my team came out and went for it on 4th. My qb got smashed on a read option play that I would've never called. Just a heads up for some that may think it's automatic field goal in every situation.

Also I never "watch" the punts if I'm on the 40 of either side of the field. I always super sim the punts for myself and the cpu. If I watch, the cpu just punts it into the end zone for touchbacks all game long. By doing this it makes the cpu and the user start in bad field position if the punters are actually good. You'll still get touchbacks though. I watch all kickoffs because the stupid game takes time off the clock if you supersim a touchback.
