Heisman level: your thoughts

I only see one major problem with heisman default and that is the speed glitch.

DE's can out run and tackle my QB who is 20 points higher in speed.

OL's can catch and tackle SS's who are 40 points lower in speed.

Re: Heisman level: your thoughts

I don't have a problem with the speed on the Hesiman level... If my QB is scrambling at an angle and a DE or DT has a direct shot at them, then the QB is toast...

My challenge with Heisman is that I have a QB with a 38% completion %. Vince Young started the KU game 2 for 19 for 16 yards. I counted direct hits and head shots that got dropped in a row.

I can deal with running more and passing less, but there has to be a medium ground.

Sliders are still default...

Heisman is unplayable to me this year. NOt so much for the Human player but the CPU is worthless on offense as my defense is everywhere!

Re: Heisman level: your thoughts

Uh... this is completely untrue. DEs don't run down faster players. I've been playing with modified sliders for Heisman and no such crap has happened to me after five games. In fact, my QB for the Gamecocks ran the option and out-ran the OLB for FLorida.

Heisman is the ONLY WAY to play. The AI runs consistently and the playcalling is very smart... Like last year, Heisman is the most realistic level. Just get good sliders.Starting from the left

BTW, here are hte best sliders
Offense
Hum Cpu
17 QBA 18
12 PBLK 8
17 WRCT 13
13 RBA 17
17 RBLK 17

Defense
Hum Cpu
1 Awar 1
7 KDS 5
10 INT 2
13 BRBK 7
9 TAK 8

Special Teams
Hum Cpu
11 FGL 7
12 FGA 9
10 PTL 9
11 PTA 9
+2 KOL -1

Varisty is a joke, in terms of the AI playcalling.

Re: Heisman level: your thoughts

Last night I played a game ND(me) at Nebraska on Heisman with heavily adjusted sliders and their qb went 13 for 20 for around 150 yards. I think their rb had about 16 carries for 70 yards. Not too bad and their play calling was excellent. I lost 19 - 14, but the game was very well played.

Re: Heisman level: your thoughts

I like heisman very much and it has given me very realistic games. This is what I do.
Being texas tech (80% passing offense)

First off you have to know the ins and outs of each play. Don't go into a play focusing on one reciever, you have to read your progressions:
1) Recognize coverage (cover 2/3, man, whatever.)
2) Look at primary reads, usually the deeper routes
3) Know where the dump offs are

If you go through these progressions the passing game will be easier. Its difficult at first but after training yourself to look for these things it becomes second nature.

Also the quick audible system works very well and you have that backup play so that you never run a bad play.

I am using Heisman w/ 10 minute quarters a few adjusted sliders, here are some stats:

Texas Tech/ TCU

score 49/31
total yrds 521/320
comp-att 36-52/ 17/27
Pass yrds 415/180
rush att 12/28
Rush yrds 106/140

Texas Tech / TAMU
score 38/36
total yrds 501/410
comp-att 30-49/21-33
pass yrds 443/298
rush att 9/20
rush yrds 58/112

Re: Heisman level: your thoughts

Sliders I used for Heisman:

Offense
Hum Cpu
20 QBA 20
20 PBLK 20
20 WRCT 20
15 RBA 5
15 RBLK 5

Defense
Hum Cpu
0 Awar 0
0 KDS 0
0 INT 0
0 BRBK 0
0 TAK 0

Seems a little weird I know...but it has worked the best for me thus far. Still tweaking as I go. Might increase CPU run block and run ability, but will have to try a few more games first.
