Editing players/rosters has always been the way to get the best results in EA Football games IMO....

The problem is i'd say about roughly 10% of all players in NCAA or Madden truly edit the game ratings because they either don't have the time/patience or they just play for casual gaming online and tournament.

having said it's a very realistic game in terms of fatigue and injuries when the USER rolls up his sleeves and reduces those ratings then setup a nice auto sub setting.

Now obviously after about 2-3 years those edits tend to phase out as you get deeper into CFM or Dynasty mode but for the short duration time IMO it's well worth it (EDITING)

But again i think guys who edit rosters are in the minority so therefor most others won't actually see some of things in the game under the hood play out on the field.

The methods others have posted are effective and users should have no problem implementing those. I play with fatigue 'On', myself. I have one or two season-ending injuries each dynasty season. I would estimate another four to five injuries lasting multiple weeks. Probably five to ten injuries per season when a player is knocked out of the game; generally, for concussions. However, I perform external mass edits on the entire dynasty roster at the start of each season and drop the Stamina rating of all players to zero. This seems to help.

Re: Any way to get injuries in this game?

I don't believe there's any way to really do anything realistic unless you fake it/ keep track of it yourself. Which is what I do. You can get a few more injuries but it doesn't fix the problem that most of them are temporary and even if you put them right back in they seemingly never get more seriously hurt.

I determine before the season how many injuries there will be (in addition to natural ones that happen in the game), set it up however you want, I think my random range is 5-12. It's just a random draw unless I feel it's been too few the last years I might redraw.

Then I randomly determine the weeks.

When the week comes for an injury whether that's preseason or whatever I randomly select a number from 1-70. I go to the player edit screen, organize them in order of last name, and go down however number of spots have been selected. I then go to that player and randomly draw from 1-99. If the number comes in OVER his injury rating, he's the one that gets hurt. If not, I again randomly select for up or down and start testing that same draw against players up (or down) the list until someone is selected for the injury. After that I again have a system for determining the length/severity. It seems like a lot of work, but it truly solves the problem, just take the dude out of your starting lineup. It also rewards the tougher players as they're less likely to get hurt. Sometimes they accumulate some special teams tackles or something but for what the goal is (stressing roster depth) it has worked great.

I also watch for guys having animations that should be an injury and if it looks serious I'll give them an injury right away and sim the severity... Or if not as bad I might test against their injury rating right then and there to determine if it's an injury.

I'll also do a manual adjustment: with the commentary on, whenever Herbstreit says the player looks woozy or makes some comment suggesting the player might be injured, I'll make sure he is taken out of the game by taking him out of the depth chart.

Also Football Outsiders did a series on NFL injuries, and I found it to be a good read. It dispelled some of my previous beliefs, and it made me think the injuries on my Dynasties might be pretty close, with the exception being offensive line injuries.
