Just buy the heatsink. I've had it for awhile and I've never noticed the slowdown at all

Re: Serial numbers on the back on the disc (slowdown related)

About the heat sink problem on newer Xboxes. I have a launch box that runs everyother(except ones with known slowdown problems) game smooth as silk. I don't think that this is a console issue or a bad batch of games. EA messed up with the programming therefore the Xbox version has slowdown. And if having the game set up to run in HD makes the slowdown worse, I would hate to see it. I play on a 32" Trinitron form 1999 and I see noticable slowdown every play up the gut. This is not a bash towards anyone or anything, just my two cents. Xbox owners either need to enjoy the game as is or play it on another system, which is what I am very close to doing!

Well I haven't noticed any slowdown (might just be me) and I've had a heatsink installed for awhile. For $5, it can't really hurt to try it and it's not gonna hurt your Xbox, it will only help it. Like they said, post your results...
