Re: Scouting Positions

That all depends on what kind of offensive and defensive system you run in the game.

Re: Scouting Positions

depends on what you like in a position.

For QB, I tend to recruit scramblers, but not super fast guys. A speedster QB makes the game too easy. I look for guys just sub 5.0 40 yard dash. Maybe a 70-75 overall speed, 80 tops. Just enough speed to scramble, but not wreak havoc. I'd much rather have a passer. Especially when you modify sliders, accuracy starts to matter much more.

Everything else, I am pretty much looking for overall. I run a balanced attack, so a balanced tendency is good for me. I want a balanced running back. Speedsters don't break tackles enough, power guys can't break away because they're too slow. There's always exceptions, but I prefer a guy closer to 90 speed and some strength.

Re: Scouting Positions

Here's some of the things I key on when scouting. Bear in mind that I'm mostly landing 3* talent.

For QB, like SilverBullet mentioned, I try to stay away from scramblers because it's so easy to tuck and run and move the sticks. I usually target balanced QB's.

RB: Carry rating, speed and ACC, in that order. I subtract about 35 carry from my HB's, so they need to start out as high as possible.

WR: catching first, then at least 84 or so speed, and route running is nice.

DE's: I need at least low 70's speed for pursuit.

MLB's I go for Play Recognition first. Even if I find one that is really great at something like tackling or speed, I usually pass if he's not decent all-around with good play recognition.

CB's: mainly focus on speed and man coverage.

OL: ACC is a huge factor here.

Safety's: I usually look at play recognition and zone coverage first.

OLB's I go scout speed and pursuit

DT's I look for block shedding and moves.
