Keeping the Military schools + GT from becoming dominant.

The best way IMO is to realign the conferences.

Props to vgunn for coming up with this. This is what I use:

With these conferences you get geographical benefits and many rivalries stay intact. Classic rivalry games will be among the non-conference slate. This alignment also does a great job of limiting certain teams from going undefeated i.e. GT ARMY NAVY MIAMI OH SDSU, ETC. Also, there is a championship game for every conference.

For the locations of the CCG I used;
ACC: Default
American: Metlife Stadium
Big12: Cowboys Stadium
B1G: Default
CUSA: M&T Bank Stadium
MAC: Default
MWC: Sports Authority Field At Mile High
PAC12: Soldier Field
SEC: Default
SunBelt: Dallas Stadium

(=protected crossover opponent)

ACC

EAST WEST
1 Maryland 1 (Indiana)
2 Penn State. 2 (Purdue)
3 Pittsburgh 3 (Cincinnati)
4 Virginia 4 (Kentucky)
5 Virginia Tech 5 (Memphis)
6 West Virginia 6 (Louisville)

The American Conference is unique, in that it is just the top rated private universities and service academies. Notre Dame gets the bulk of it's rivalries and annual games are protected as well. So, for example, every year one of the fixed non-conference games for Stanford is Cal. Same for USC, which will always play UCLA.

AMERICAN

PRESTIGE PRIVILEGE
1 Air Force 1 (Tulsa)
2 Army 2 (Vanderbilt)
3 Boston College 3 (Tulane)/UAB {see INDEPENDENTS}
4 Navy 4 (SMU)
5 Notre Dame 5 (Northwestern)
6 Stanford 6 (Duke)
7 Syracuse 7 (Wake Forest)
8 USC 8 (Rice)

BIG 12

EAST WEST
1 Arkansas 1 (Baylor)
2 LSU 2 (TCU)
3 Mississippi State 3 (Oklahoma State)
4 Ole Miss 4 (Houston)
5 Texas A&M 5 (Texas Tech)
6 Texas 6 (Oklahoma)

BIG TEN

NORTH SOUTH
1 Illinois 1 (Missouri)
2 Michigan 2 (Kansas)
3 Michigan State 3 (Iowa State)
4 Minnesota 4 (Iowa)
5 Ohio State 5 (Nebraska)
6 Wisconsin 6 (Kansas State)

C-USA

NORTH SOUTH
1 Buffalo 1 (UCF)
2 Connecticut 2 (FAU)
3 Marshall 3 (East Carolina)
4 Rutgers 4 (Old Dominion)/UAB/TULANE {see below}
5 Temple 5 (USF)
6 UMass/ODU 6 (FIU)

(After a few seasons I swapped UMASS for UAB and put ODU in the CUSA North and UAB in CUSA South. I eventually wanted more of a challenge and swapped TULANE in AMERICAN PRIVILEGE for UAB in CUSA South again)
INDEPENDENTS
Idaho
UAB/ UMASS {see above}

MAC

EAST WEST
1 Akron 1 (Central Michigan)
2 Bowling Green 2 (Ball State)

3 New Mexico State 3 (UNLV)
4 Utah State 4 (San Diego State)
5 UTEP 5 (Fresno State)
6 Wyoming 6 (Hawai'i)

PAC-12

PACIFIC WEST
1 California 1 (BYU)
2 Oregon 2 (Arizona)
3 Oregon State 3 (Arizona State)
4 UCLA 4 (Utah)
5 Washington 5 (Colorado)
6 Washington State 6 (Boise State)

I don’t think most of us want to do an entire realignment of the college football landscape just to prevent army and navy from being overpowered. The quick and simple edits of Qb and RB do it just fine.

If you just want to share your custom conference setup, there’s a thread for that

NCAA is stupid as well because they put G5 teams in the title game over P5 teams who would get in ahead of them. Their poll logic doesn’t make sense.

It, like every other “flaw” we find in the game, is to cater to more casual players who don’t take it as seriously as we do. Let’s say you go to school at UMASS and want to take them to an undefeated national title. We’re all willing to put in the work to make that realistic with house rules and sliders. Most people on the other hand want to do it right away without the work and that’s as far as they’ll go. It sucks, especially because that’s the reason EA put in the season mode, but it’s how business works.

Luckily we have the EA editor so I don’t have to watch a Natty where Texas demolishes a Bowling Green team who won all their MAC games by a TD or less lol.

That's interesting - I had played Navy and knew they run the option but didn't realize all the military schools plus Georgia Tech run it.

It also explains why Georgia Tech just won the national championship.

I'm going to schedule them in the non-conference from now on - and beat them using the 4-4 defense.

I honestly don't know what I did before the editor lol
