Prestige Rank Up

I am trying something new. Starting as a 1 Star prestige school (using the editor to adjust prestige). I will only let my prestige rise when I hit certain milestones. I get certain points toward ranking up for completing objectives (wins, awards, etc). Prestige will impact my recruiting options due to my house rules. This will help keep me honest and not reach for higher recruits before my time.

Here’s my list so far. (Objective followed by points awarded)

Win- 1
10 pt win- 2
14 pt win- 3
21 pt win- 4
Top 25 win- 5
Top 10 win- 10
Top 5 win- 15
Top 1 win- 20
ESPN Classic- 5
Heisman- 50
Award winner- 15
1st Team All American- 10
2nd Team All American- 5
1st Team Conference All American- 5
2nd Team Conference All American- 2
Set an NCAA Season Record- 25
Set an NCAA Single Game Record- 10
Win 6 games- 10
Win 8 games- 15
Win 10 games- 20
Win 12 games- 25
Win 14+ games- 35
Go undefeated- 50
Win Division- 10
Win Conference- 15
Make a bowl-15
Win a bowl- 30
Win a New Years 6 bowl- 50
Make the National Championship- 100
Win National Championship- 500

When I get 1,000 points I will bump myself to 2 star prestige. Maybe 2,500 points for 3 star etc. (Thoughts?)

After I get to 2 or 3 star prestige I will implement subtractions so that I have to keep working and won’t just get to 6 star by default at some point.

Any suggestions for point totals or other things to award points for?

Personally I think that undefeated should get you a few more points? Otherwise it looks good.

I’ll look into that. I haven’t decided if I’ll stack points or not. So if I go undefeated then I’ll get the rewards for 6,8,10, and 12 wins. Trying to figure out the best option!

Re: Prestige Rank Up

I would do no stacking. I feel each one builds off the last one so don't need to stack. I would imagine for example your win by x amount of points won't stack or beat top 25 or 10 or 5 opponent won't stack, so I would say no stacking to the wins either. Also I would only give the 6 wins bonus if you finish with a winning record or .500 record. Just my take on it. I really like this idea though.

Thanks for the input. I may drop the points of the “stackable” awards. Maybe do 5 points a piece so I can stack them but still get the same points as if I only counted winning X games. I use an excel spreadsheet for this stuff with formulas so when I like to see the stacking effect.
