Re: Favorite Young players to develop in Manager Mode

I'm still in my first season with Spurs in CM but I'm trying to develop Luke Shaw & Adnan Januajz. I was able to buy both players in the 2014 Winter transfer window for relatively cheap.

I'm also hoping to bring in the striker from France Anthony Martial, he's the main striker that I hope to develop. My next target is a teenage keeper who I'd like to progress into an eventual replacement for Lloris.

I highly suggest it, I've been using Shaw and Januajz but their progressing sucks for me right now, although it seems like every cross Januajz makes ends up in the net, his stamina is crap. Martial on the other hand I brought in at the end of the January Transfer window in year two, and he has been fantastic, and he's progressing very quickly too.

I didn't have such luck for Bruma, unfortunately. He stayed 81 until I sold him. He was playing consistently.

Anyway, to answer the OP's question, my favorite players to develop are my youth academy players. I used my club team's youth academy to scout players for my national team (United States) and I kept and loaned the very best superstar potential players and sold the rest off. All in all I have called up 80 youth players, 49 of which were US players. Now in spring 2021, the United States is a five star squad and my starting XI for the US are all 80 or above (10 of the 11 came through my youth academy) and the three of the best players (Two wingbacks and a center midfielder; 84, 83, and 88, respectively) are starting in my Chelsea XI as well.

So rebuilding a national team with your club budget is fun for me.

I couldn't get Martial to develop for anything. Had him for about 4 years in 2 different careers and he never made any sort of leap. Even when I made him a regular starter.

Any good young strikers that are relatively cheap? I'm trying to add some athleticism off the bench for my Seattle Sounders career. I was looking into Mame Diouf, but he's on the move already in transfers.

What budget are you working with?

I like Mayuka from Southampton (he starts out on loan to Sochaux). I've had fun playing with Angelo Henriquez as well (Man Utd on loan to Real Zaragoza).

Re: Favorite Young players to develop in Manager Mode

Using the LA Galaxy, I sold off Landon Donovan halfway through the first season for a whopping $11M to Aston Villa. His value was $6M but he was the leading scorer in MLS at the time. I also shipped off Robbie Keane straight up for Bruno Mendes. Using the cash from the Donovan transfer I bought Marvin Ducksh from Dortmund to give me two very young strikers, both being 19 years old.

Already on the Galaxy was Gyasi Zardes who at age 21 has already developed into one of my star players. He's not very skilled, but his length and athleticism is too much to pass up for an LM.

I picked up Julian Green. Hes turning into a beast. He is so fast. Having him and Yedlin both on the right side attacking is deadly.
