    Inconsistent Difficulty in Career Mode

So I am playing a Manager Mode with Spurs. Playing on professional with boosted sliders for the CPU as the problem of world class being too hard and professional too easy on default sliders is well documented. I worked to get a set of sliders that I really liked - challenging but fair.

So far, I beat Man U 1-0, lost to Stoke 3-0, beat Leicester 6-2, drew Everton 1-1, and beat Sunderland 7-0. There is absolutely no consistently in the difficulty level of the CPU. I played very well in the Stoke and outshot them by a ton, but lost as Diouf had a ridiculous bicycle kick and a volley from about 25 feet out. I knew I was going to lose about five minutes in regardless of what I did.

My goalie either stops everything or stops nothing. My shots are either all dead on target or seemingly all off the post (I think I hit the woodwork four times in the Stoke loss).

In the two victories against Leicester and Sunderland, it was like playing on amateur. The cpu marking which is set on around 60 was non existent. I could dribble through the entire defense and do whatever I wanted. It wasn't very fun to be honest.

In the Everton game, I knew I had no chance to win about five minutes in as well as I was constantly being pushed off every single ball by the CPU and they were intercepting almost every single pass. I knew the settings had been jacked up a bit before the match.

Is anyone else seeing this? I don't care about the outcome of the games as much as I do having a good but fair challenge. I hate knowing five to ten minutes into the game that the AI code has raised or lowered the abilities of the CPU to a level that basically prevents wins or in contrast guarantees me a win regardless of how I play.

This seems to make the whole idea of sliders a moot point. Maybe it's just me.

Yes, I have also noticed this a lot.

I've not kept a log, but anecdotally, I find the games against poorer clubs are normally the most difficult.

To get the hang of things (I've been away from FIFA for a few years), I've been using Man U in a Career Mode. I've begun on Professional - which, to be honest, is not nearly hard enough - and played a few games on Legendary to test it out. At both levels, I've found myself running circles around Real Madrid and Bayern in the Champions League only to struggle in the League Cup against Burnley.

I understand this is to mimic a bad team getting "fired up" and playing above their capabilities, but it seems to happen consistently - far too often for my tastes. Moreover, I'd actually like to cop a pasting from Real or Bayern. They should be extremely hard to beat, not dumbed down.

This happens to me in my career too but I don't make a big deal out of it. I think I have my sliders right enough. It's very possible that the style and tactics of the opponents may affect outcomes. Sometimes it's luck. It's also computer software you're talking about. It doesn't matter how good you aim, at the end of the day, some decisions are made by random numbers (not completely random obviously but get the idea).

I've had tougher time scoring against smaller clubs, which makes sense. They might play more conservative, etc. Don't think about it too much like it's a chemistry problem and there is an exact solution to the problem. Enjoy the random game.

        Same problem here.
*Finally solved by adjusting my slides after dozens of games and some custom editing (i play only offline), career mode.
Now the games are very balanced and i'm really struggling.
Very happy playing on PRO, slow (UK Champhionship)
        Good luck

Hey. Would you mind posting your sliders if you get a chance? I'm also playing Pro, slow and Championship and could do with some decent sliders. Thanks.

            Yes, of course, my slides:
Sprint 48/49 --------> test well also 50 for CPU
Acc 48/49------------------> try also 50 for CPU (more reactive, more fouls)
Shot Error 50/44 -----------> i want more precise shots by CPU
            Pass Error 50/61
            Shot Speed 50/48
            Pass Speed 40/30 -------> i like a slower gameplay
            Injury Freq 75/75
            Injury Severity 50/50
GK Ability 41/41 -------> GK are too strong, unrealistic at 50
Marking 55/63 --------> more pressure by CPU
Run Freq 50/41 ------------> CPU is more careful in build up
            Height 17/49
            Length 55/59
            Width 44/43
            Fullbacks 51/51
First Touch 85/85 ------> nice to see some mistakes, they are not all like Messi!

I also reduced speed and acceleration around 83-84 for all those players in my squad who had these attributes approximately like 89-90 (devastanting and unrealistic speed, when player controlled)
As mentioned i'm very happy with this arrangement and i find the matches very equilibrate with several fouls (PRO-SLOW-UK Championship Career).
Tell me, if you find better values and better gameplay.
            Good luck

Thanks for these, I look forward to using them. The run frequency one makes a lot of sense. I've seen some sliders where people drop them to 20/20 and noted a lot of attacks and shots on target which didn't make sense to me. These ones look really good though. Thanks again.
