I don't know much about football and how all this works. I'm using Everton of the English Premier League but I'm wondering about the transfer window. How do I set this up for the most realistic start? Originally I had left the transfer window on but now I'm realizing Everton in real life acquired the players already on my roster during this period, I think. So should I turn off the transfer window to have the most realistic roster?

To keep the rosters as realistic as possible to start, I turn off the first transfer window. That will give you half a season with real rosters.Current careers:

I think that's what I did as well. Does this affect the January transfer window? I can't find a setting to turn it back on, so does it do this automatically?Comment

It only disables the transfer window at the start of the season. There is no way (on consoles) at least to disable transfers completely."Listen son, you only have enough runs when you’re showering after a win."Comment

It also depends when you’re starting your career mode from. Obviously there’s no football at the moment so you’d need to pretend that it’s either back at the beginning of the season, or that you’ve skipped ahead to next season. If you’re pretending it’s last year then I’d turn them off. If you’re starting as if it’s the 2020-21 season, it’d be more realistic to keep them on so teams make summer transfers as they usually would.Comment
