EA have sent over a Press Release announcing that Maurice Edu of Toronto FC will be the main cover athlete for FIFA 09. They also included some screenshots from the PS3 and Wii versions.

Wow, seriously? I love TFC, but this just seems odd. Could this be EA Canada flexing their muscle?

lol. Maurice Edu, really? Yeah he's an up-and-comer on a popular, albeit crappy, team but Edu? Not that it has any affect whatsoever on me purchasing the game, just find it odd.

Same with me, I really don't care at all who is on the cover, but Edu on the cover is odd.

Also, I'm hoping that crappy team can some how make it into the playoffs.
