Fifa 09 franchise question.

How is the franchise mode in fifa 09? I keep getting let down by the franchise modes in games like Madden (player progression), Nhl 09 (again barely any player progression),The Show (Same thing, bad lineups) Mlb 2k9 (The game just isnt fun).

The only game i have found to have a good franchsie/dynasty is Ncaa but the gameplay (Robo qb) kills it.

So...

What are your thoughts on Fifa 09s francise mode in particular. Is player progression good, do comupters build decent teams, what are the glaring flaws.. etc.

Oh, and simply is it better than PES? PES seems to stay the same..while Fifa has made strides.

i think the consensus is that the franchise winner this year is PES. i cannot comment, as i have never done the master league.

i play FIFA manager mode religiously, but it is DEEPLY flawed.

player progression is broken. your players gain excessive points and CPU controlled teams do not seem to progress.

transfer logic and fatigue logic are awful. the computer will buy high profile players and NOT start them. EXAMPLE: chelsea beat me in a bid for david silva. he is a reserve... well, maybe that is ok for chelsea, but it happens. also, the CPU will not change their starting 11 at all... even if fatigue is at zero!

finally, and most frustatingly, the schedule is bugged. sometimes the CPU schedules Cup and league games on the same day.


but, i love it... i like the game play and i like trying for trophies year after year... and its HARD! i have played a few years with Arsenal and i have only won the FA cup once. this year i am in the semis for the ECC (champions league equivalent).

The manager mode this year really is terrible if you consider the fact that it was almost exactly the same last year and they made virtually no changes to it. That being said, I just can't get into the Master League. I really like the game play in fifa and the authenticity just can't be matched by PES. I don't know if it has changed, but I don't even know if you could make a league with 20 teams in the Master League. In addition you could only have one lower league with something like 12 teams. So if you're a fan of English football or anyother majore leagues, it nice to have the lower league teams as well.

I still have a good time playing a few seasons into a Manager Mode. It is very flawed but not unplayable by any means. If you can look past a few glaring issues it can be very enjoyable.
