Manager Mode HELP

Hey All
I have just started playing in manager mode with a 2 star team Plymouth after successfully playing manager mode for two seasons with Man U. I don't know if it is because the players are worse, but I am finding it really hard to play due to certain things that I will list below.

1. I cannot find a formation that works. No matter what one I play I always do not have enough men in attack and not enough in defense any suggestions? Any formations and tactics you want to share

2. Tactics suck. I have read at least 20 posts on how tactics work and how it make fifa so great, but I just fail at them. I have the same problems I had when I bought the game. My defenders back peddle away from the attacker no matter what I put the pressure and aggression at. As a result I get scored on mercilessly. On the attacking front I can't score a goal to save my life. If i build up slow my players have terrible spacing and the ball gets stolen. If I play fast and counter attack I end up with one striker in the box and about 6 defenders waiting for me.

For a long time I thought I would just figure it out on my own but not anymore. I need some one to tell me exactly what tactics, formation and anything else they use PLEASE.

hahaha that sure was funny. We that always happens to everyone who plays a Big team and comes to play witht he smaller team. All you need here is patienece, ur really skill in football is tested. This is where u have to make ur tackles and make those killer passes.

You can't just run and score, u will have to work hard for ur goals. Start from the back.. try not to concede any goals, then slowly try to have more possession on the ball with ur passes, and finally u will find free spaces for ur forwards to pass and score goals. Formation wise try to have 4-4-2 or 4-3-3.

I had that problem too. I'm a big time Barca fan and basically used them exclusively for the longest. Then when I wanted to start with Atlas (Mexican team) I struggled to win. I really don't have a problem anymore. All I do is play smart football. Keep the ball and eventually something will open up. The ball is your friend. A good formation to start with is 4-2-2-2 and then the 4-3-3 once your players ratings go up.
