Squad Update? (Nov 15th)

I just got the FIFA10 game today. I have been reading a lot about the problems with teams have all-70's for their custom tactics.

I did a quick look-through of the non-EPL English teams. I saw LOTS of 70s.

Then I went to "update squads". It downloaded something.

Now I see a mix in the custom tactics ... no more all-70's.

So - did a squad update come out without me knowing? Is this a fix?

I just checked myself, and it looks like the Squad Update is here.

Also noticed that when in the pre-match screen, the teams are now showing the different tactics whereas even with the custom tactics, those all didn't change.

Good find! I was expecting more fanfare and hoop-la about this. I dabbled with some custom tactics, mostly to fix the lower English leagues, but I think I'll just go with these now.

I just fired it up, no squad update for myself. I did get an update a few days ago though so I'm wondering if it's the same.

Are we in consensus that these adjustments are adequate?

I do not need to make the ten generic CTTs and distribute them?

Be careful how you save the file. I have two squad files now - one is the default and one is the Nov15th update. Just in case. My XBOX is not usually hooked up to the internet (I have to move it into the other room) - so I do not have "continuous" online connection.

Do I need to establish another squad file if I adjust the team stadiums? (IMPORTANT)

Just checked this, and I did not have the newest squad file. I went into the lower English leagues, and there are no more 70's. Lots of 50's, but that's just dandy.

I plan on having two squad files, one for future updates and the other just for stadium names.

I checked the custom tactics for Morecambe and then reset the squads. After the update, they were changed from all 70's to something different.

What's weird is that none of the forums/blogs I usually check (FIFASoccerBlog, Sweetpatch, EA Forums, etc.) don't make any mention of this, especially in light of the fact that it was one of the more urgent issues raised by the community regarding MM post-patch. Has anyone seen/read anything yet?

I'm so glad that i stumbled upon this last night. Now I don't have to manually lower the defensive pressure of several teams. That was my biggest problem with the original tactics, now the game plays more like actual soccer.

Now if EA would do something about that ridiculous 2 billion in debt glitch I would be content.

Are these revised CTTs enough?

I do NOT need to build the ten generic CTTs and distribute them?

Is the consensus that we are happy with these adjustments?

You may wish to fine tune a few teams, but distributing generic template tactics is unnecessary. I myself am happy with these adjustments.

Yes, any changes to stadiums must be saved under squads.

Same here. I was actually relying on FIFASoccerBlog to let me know when they were ready. Have been checking daily and no word on this update what-so-ever. Nothing at the EA Forums either. You'd think with all the stick they are getting all the time from some very vocal people that they would have at least said that the tactics fix was out. Looking forward to my MM career with Chelsea now!!

It is still possible that this is not "the" tactics update. Another, more in depth, update may be coming. Otherwise the tactics update came a whole 2 weeks or so ahead of time. If I'm not mistaken last week the word was that it would take 3 more weeks to get it out.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if this is maybe just a "work in progress" update. I would think EA will probably make some kind of noise when it is eventually released.

The thought crossed my mind, but I don't see any other reason for the update. For example, Robert Enke is still on Hannover. There may be a SLIM possibility that this was put out to simply get rid of the "all 70s" teams with plans on making more changes for the post-transer window squad update, but I wouldn't hold your breath.
