Question About # of Games?

If I start from the qualifying section and make it all the way to the finals....how many games will it take me?

For the USA you have to play the third and fourth rounds of CONCACAF qualifying. The third round is 6 games, and the 4th is 10. Add the 7 games you need to win the WC and you have 23 games. There is also a chance you will have to play a two leg playoff, which adds up to 25, if you finish 4th in the 4th round.

For Italy (Not sure if it's like this in the game, but this is how it happened in real life), you have to compete in a 6 team group. There was also one 5 team group. You play each team twice, and the top team in the group earns a birth. Then, the best 8 of the 9 second place teams played a two leg playoff amongst themselves. Plus the 7 games in the World Cup, that means 17, maybe 19 games.

If this is wrong, can someone clear it up? I don't know much about the UEFA qualifiers.

You are right about the UEFA qualifiers. 10 matches from a six team group, playing each team twice.
