Switching Teams in Player/Manager Mode Problem

Has anybody been able to switch teams after the season in player/manager mode and become a player/manager for a new team? I've tried both playing and simming multiple times, but at the end of the season the only job offers I have are for manager positions, not player/manager positions. If I want to stay as player/manager I have to remain with the current club.

My player is comparable to the players on the teams offering me manager positions, so I don't think that is the issue. My apologies if this has been asked or answered elsewhere.

To be a player manager you have to be a legend on your team, right? I'd imagine that because you aren't a legend on any other team. You can only be a manager for the other teams.
