Re: How's your CM/MM Going?

Started with Tottenham, and it's been a disaster so far. I had a pretty successful one with Wolverhampton over about 3 seasons of FIFA 10.

Every game I play is either a 1-1 tie or a 1-0 loss. I'm comfortable with the level I'm at (Pro), but the aggressive tackling really wrecks the way I play. I don't know a ton about real soccer, but I'm guessing if real-life defenders were THIS aggressive, they would also get burned 1-on-1 on a regular basis...but not in FIFA 11.

I'm adjusting to the stripped down career mode too. The interfacing LOOKS nicer and the addition of an actual calendar is nice. But I struggle to see how anyone could have more FUN with this as compared to FIFA 10. Keeping track of transfers is largely a nightmare...you shortlist guys which then DISAPPEAR from the list, and you can only access shortlist by doing a search for those players. Huh? Also, not being able to scout young players midseason completely changes the dynamic for up-and-coming teams, and takes away a lot of the fun during the season, IMO.

Dirk Kuyt was listed during the initial transfer window, and I did get the club to negotiate with me. Unfortunately, my contract offer was either too low or it got skipped over because I used the calendar to advance instead of clicking the "advance" option (Arrgghhh!). Just generally not a fan, right now.

Re: How's your CM/MM Going?

I'm loving the Bundesliga.

Currently, after 9 games, I'm sitting in 4th place with 19 points. Only one loss so far this season. Also, drew 1-1 with Bayern which I was proud of. I drew my last game 2-2 with St. Pauli, though, when I rested many players for my upcoming first round DFB Pokal match against mighty Bayern.

So, I threw two points way in a game I had won in the league, so hopefully I can knock off Bayern and be on my way to my realistic goal this year of winning the domestic cup. The league, not yet, but I think if I get past Bayern, the cup is a realistic goal.

The board wants me to finish in the top 6, which I think I can manage. I have my sights set on top 4, though.

Re: How's your CM/MM Going?

I'm devastated right now.

I lost 2-0 to Bayern in the DFB Pokal. They scored in the fourth minute, and then just sat back and defended the rest of the game until Robben put a free kick away in the 89th minute.

I lost points in the league before this match to rest players. Ahhhh!

I better bounce back in the league quickly. What an unlucky draw landing Bayern right away. Oh well. Can't wait until they come to Dortmund later in the year.

Luckily, my next league game is against Hoffenheim, who sits in 18th with one point from nine matches.

Ouch looks like it's time to bounce back.

I beat them 1-0, after both sides went down to 10 men. However, in my next match, I drew 0-0 with Frankfurt. Which always hurts, but especially when you miss a penalty.

After playing several more games, it finally happened, my first loss of the season! 15 games. 7 wins, 7 draws, 1 loss. It was a nice run. Currently 5th in the table and it appears Bayern has already won the title as their 10 points clear.

Re: How's your CM/MM Going?

I've been sacked...12 games into the season...by a lower league team (Rotherham)...while placed in 4th and 3 points back from the leaders...just before a cup sectional quarterfinal. Seemed kinda harsh.

So I'm starting over. What board difficulty is everyone using?

I believe I'm using Pro. That or World Class, but I believe Pro. What was your goal in terms of league position from the board?
