Player Ratings / Match Ratings

Has anyone figured out how to achieve good numbers for the player ratings?

I believe the dumpy progression system is related to the players' match ratings - and I would like to try to maximize the match rating as best I can (and see if that has any positive effect on player growth).

My player ratings are usually in the 6.0 - 7.5 range ... I do not think that is really all that high. There is probably something that I could be doing better.

My DEF values are usually higher than my ATT values.

Thoughts?

Best solution is simple: sim some games. The ratings will be better on average and thus help progression.

Since this may not be a good solution for you, here are a couple things I've found help:

1. Use tactics to keep passing shorter, and complete more passes. This will help midfielder ratings if their percentage is high.

2. Pass players in to space and sprint/complete dribbles. When wingers/strikers lose the ball, they lose rating. To compensate, use #1 above and hold on to the ball more. Make a move if possible, then pass off. The more completed dribbles, the higher the rating.

3. Shots help strikers. If you aren't sure if you're going to complete the next dribble, and you're focused on upping your rating, shoot instead of adding another dribble. A shot is good even if it's saved, and on target is better than off target. In general, shoot more if possible.

4. I have no idea on the GK rating.

Re: Player Ratings / Match Ratings

Another thing we've discussed in the past is that longer games seem to give a slight boost to match ratings (and thus player form when it was in). Some of the ratings criteria are quantitative -- # of passes/shots/tackles/etc -- so naturally more time means more stuff... but I see you are already using 15 minute halves.
