Bought:

James Milner from Man City for $30 mil to replace Lampard
Somen Tchoyi from West Brom
Sofiane Feghouli from Valencia

I started out on semi-pro cause I was still getting used to the game. After winning all 4 preseason games with 6-0, 6-2 scores I upped it to Pro.

2 games into the schedule and I'm 2-0 sitting in the top 2 I think.

My starters:
Cech
Boswinga
Ivanovic
Terry
Cole
Ramires
Raul Meireles
Milner
Sturridge
Lukaku
Mata

I have Essien on my reserves since he is injured in real life and won't play for a while.

And Drogba is a sub now because I gave Lukaku a start in the final 2 preseason games and he did really well. He asked me for a chance to start in the season opener, I gave it to him and he scored 2 goals.

So I'm going to stay with Lukaku and use Drogba as a sub or maybe start him in cup games/bigger matches.
Nice, Lukaku is a beast and he progressed well in my first season. Also Drogba told me he was going to retire after the season

Re: How is your Career Mode going? (FIFA 2012)

Currently 12 games in with my Palermo club. Were in 5 place, which is where I wanna be (trying to get the team to Euro). Only AC Milan, Juventus, Roma, and Inter are ahead of us (Inter had a slow start but has come on really strong - they added Drogba!).

Just had a massive reality check game by losing 4-1 to Juventus away after I had used my coach to talk trash on them. Wasnt pretty. I also lost two of my forwards to injury (the worse being Abel Hernandez, my 20 year old 79 rated ST who broke his elbow and is now out for 2 months). I also lost my 2nd leading scorer, Illicic, for 3 weeks with a sprained ankle. Again, tough tough game to have.

Im currently loading up my youth system with Italians and Spaniards, and I think I may use a 3rd country as well. Im thinking somewhere in Africa - Ivory Coast maybe. Well see. My quest to make Palermo a dominant Euro power is in its baby stages, but its working.

Re: How is your Career Mode going? (FIFA 2012)

Started CM with Manchester United. During the transfer window, Arsenal spent 56.5 millions Euros on David Silva lol! That really surprised me because Arsenal hardly spends that much but they did need midfield help without Cesc and Nasri. Through 5 games, I am undefeated but lost Anderson for 8 weeks with a broken arm, Hernandez for 3 month, and Ashley Young for 3 as well. Using Fletcher as my holding midfielder and giving Cleverly some playing time. When Rio was sidelined for 3 weeks I had Phil Jones fill in and kept him in there even after Rio was 100%. he demanded more playing time so i started him. I want to sell rio and berbatov if possible. Looked to pick up Kaka from Chelsea and he wasnt even starting on that team but Chelsea refused because they said he was still a relatively new signing. All in all, having a blast

Re: How is your Career Mode going? (FIFA 2012)

Since I wanted a challenge I started a CM with Portsmouth. The transfer & wage budgets are really tight and the squad is really small. We started the preseason with a couple of goals in mind:

1.) Get younger - With veterans such as Kanu, Benjani, and Kitson we are a little on the old and slow side. With a transfer budget of $100k we're not going to be able to splurge on transfers so we need to bring in some youth on season-long loans.

2.) Get the finances in order - Goes in-line with #1 but when you're limited in cash you need to get the most out of what you have. We can't afford to spend on one individual.

3.) Avoid injuries - We're not a deep squad with a lot of cover so we need to avoid a lot of trips to the physio.

Preseason friendlies came around and I got a chance to get a feel for my squad. We're not fast or overly skilled on the ball but we have enough of a mixture of both to compete. We started off with a 1-2 defeat to Sao Paulo. They were just quicker than us. Then we faced some English competition in Stoke & Wigan where we fared much better defensively getting 2 ties. We were able to offload Kanu, loan out a couple of youngsters, and then Bologna came in and made an offer for Benjani that I couldn't refuse. They splashed 1.4million pounds on the ex-Citeh ST and I had to take the cash. I turned the cash into loans for:

CM/LM - John Bostock from Tottenham on season-long loan
ST - Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace on season-long loan
LM/MF - Andros Townsend from Tottenham for 1million pounds

I had to splurge on Townsend, the England U-19 international after not having any cover on the flanks. I agreed to terms before the transfer deadline closed but he hasn't agreed to his contract yet.

We started the season off with a 3 goal thrashing of West Ham in London. We followed it up with 2 more league wins and 2nd round FA Cup win before we got beat by Derby County and Aston Villa in the next round of the Cup. Injuries started to settle in and had too many guys playing in secondary positions.

Re: How is your Career Mode going? (FIFA 2012)

Started my career mode with Tottenham.

I bought Mamadou Sakho from PSG and sold William Gallas to Aston Villa.

Started off the PL season with a 2-3 loss at Manchester United. Goals from Adebayor and Van der Vaart.

The Spurs are pretty fun to play with

Re: How is your Career Mode going? (FIFA 2012)

I just finished my first season with Bayern Munich. I was so close to starting with an MLS team but I caved and went with a heavy hitter. I started off on World Class with 8 Min halves and switched to Legendary and 10 Min halves a little more than half way through the season.

Despite having an extremely stacked team I struggled finishing the season something like 12 W - 12 D- 10 L. The board almost fired me but gave me another chance.

I'm loving the mode!
