FIFA 12 skill move directions?

I know (at least I think I know) that the directions for skill moves are player relative. So if he's moving from MY left to right, like left to right across my TV, the flicking down on the stick is controlling moves for the player's right.

That said, how technical does it get when it comes to moving diagonally, or just not straight up/left/right/down? If my player is moving down my screen and to the right, say from the top left corner of my screen to the bottom right, then technically his right would be a flick down and left? Or does moving diagonally down/right still consider him moving simply left to right and his right is still simply just down?

You're right it is absolutely relative to his direction, so in your diagonal situation down left WOULD be to the players right, although I feel like there is a big window with the conroller mapping.
